Just got my copy of Messages from the Embers - From devastation to hope: Australian Bushfire Poetry Anthology. This book is a must read for anyone wanting to truly understand the fragility of land and nature. 118 poetic voices have come together in this amazing collection, with all proceeds going to Blaze Aid, helping communities rebuild. Two of my poems made the cut, one in the Aftermath section and another depicting hope and the need to take more care of our world. Thank you Julie Kaylock and Denise O'Hagan for compiling this all important book and for inviting me along to the online launch to read a piece.

MY FIRST BILLBOARD!!!! What a wonderful email I just received tonight from WA Poets Inc, advising that my work has been selected to be screened on the Northbridge Piazza Superscreen throughout this year's Perth Poetry Festival (September 19-27 2020). I don't know the exact screening schedule, but if you are based in Western Australia be sure to visit the Piazza space if you can during the festival to check out some of the fantastic poetry screening on the billboard. A free signed copy of my poetry book coming your way if you manage to capture a snap of the billboard with my work up in lights.

Today is the 12hr Melbourne Spoken Word Festival closing streamathon and am delighted my poetry short movie, Padlock, took 6th place from a tsunami of incredible 3 minute poetry film submissions (Tied with my friend and poetry genius Scott-Patrick Mitchell). Most proud mumma moment as my sixteen year old son Kayin Van Nelson, directed, filmed, edited, and composed the music for this piece, putting the spotlight on domestic violence. Thank you to all of you who voted and to Melbourne Spoken Word for putting on such a cool visual poetry event xxx
